A pig slaughterhouse equipped with a FB bar screen

May 27, 2019

A few days ago, a pig slaughterhouse in department 25 was equipped with an FB Procédés automatic vertical bar screen.

While our bar screens no longer have much to prove on traditional wastewater treatment plants, their adaptability and modularity often enable us to offer them on industrial sites.

This bar screen is installed in a concrete substation, the base of which protrudes 1100mm above the «natural ground». In this configuration, our unique technology comes into its own and has no equivalent on the market. Why is this so? Quite simply because our gravity system enables us to clean the grate from the upstream side, and discharge the waste from the upstream side too.

Most of our competitors, in the same situation, will offer to discharge the waste outside the station (on the upstream side) but - yes, there's a very important «but» - their bar screens will clean the screen from the downstream side, i.e. in the opposite direction to that of the effluent. In our opinion, this is far less efficient, to say nothing of systems with switches.

We'll be happy to explain our technological differences and highlight their advantages.
