Our history
1985 - The invention
Fernand Barré, founder of FB Procédés Artisan, invented the gravity-operated vertical automatic bar screen. Ahead of its time, this bar screen was named the NG-type vertical bar screen. It has since played a major role in building our company’s reputation and still forms part of our current product range.
1991 - The transmission
As Fernand Barré reached retirement, he passed on his know-how to Patrick Dupré, a former methods technician at Worthington in Nantes. Patrick Dupré then acquired the company and founded FB Procédés SARL.
1993 - development
Robert Lobréau, a former engineer at ACB Alstom, took over the management of the company’s technical department. A genuine research and development initiative was then undertaken to expand our product range.
1997 - Creation of the SG400 bar screen
In response to repeated requests from many operators seeking a screening solution for wastewater treatment plants of 6,500 PE and below, we introduced an alternative to the NG-type bar screen. This is how the SG400 vertical bar screen was created, inspired by the NG-type technology. Perfectly matching operators’ needs, the SG400 quickly achieved immediate success in the field.
2003 - Creation of the XG bar screen
When approached for the supply of bar screens discharging screenings downstream — while our range at the time included only upstream-discharge bar screens — we decided to launch the new XG-type vertical bar screen.
2006 - Creation of VTP and VCP screws
We launched our own range of VTP-type conveyor screws and VCP-type compactor screws, in response to the growing number of requests. Today, one out of three bar screens is paired with a screw system.
2010 - Export development
Although we are already present in several countries, we are now taking a real step towards marketing our bar screens for export, by creating a dedicated department.
2012 - Creation of the SI350 bar screen
Specifically designed for wastewater treatment plants of 3,000 PE and below, the SI350 bar screen completes our product range and enables us to optimize our offerings for this type of installation.
2016 - Morocco and Spain
To offer the same level of support and responsiveness as in France, we are opening offices in Casablanca and Barcelona. This choice allows us to be as close as possible to our customers.
2017 - Creation of the PROSTEP bar screen
Recognized for many years as specialists in vertical screening, we took on the challenge set by several long-standing clients: to design a so-called “step screen.” This led to the development of the PROSTEP bar screen, which has since delivered full satisfaction in the field.
2023 - Guillaume Dupré takes the reins
Guillaume joined the FB Procédés teams in February 2014, initially as Sales Director. In 2015, he became Managing Director of the company, before his father, Patrick Dupré, retired in 2018. In June 2023, Guillaume bought FB Procédés outright, becoming its sole shareholder.
2024 - Creation of the PROPRESS washing press
Waste treatment has become a real challenge for many municipalities and urban areas. To align with our clients’ needs, we developed the PROPRESS washer-compactor, which not only reduces the volume of waste but also achieves a dryness level of over 50%.
Today
With more than 6,700 bar screens in operation across over 60 countries, FB Procédés has succeeded in convincing, earning the trust of, and retaining its customers.
